On May 11, 2024, the Executive MBA Program’s ECAP team hosted an educational session centred around the theme of ‘Transitioning from being a Manager to a Leader.’ The event, held on May 11th, 2024, witnessed the participation of over 100 EMBA students from both the Dubai face-to-face and Middle East online cohorts.
The session included esteemed alumni from previous Dubai batches, each offering unique perspectives drawn from their extensive professional journeys.
Dean Gary warmly welcomed the alumni, appreciating their remarkable career trajectories. Dr Monica and Dr TP Anand, also in attendance, extended a warm welcome, further highlighting the significance of alumni engagement.
Throughout the session, the alumni acknowledged the pivotal role of faculty members such as Prof Boman Moradian, Dr TP Anand, and Dr Gary in shaping their academic and professional journeys.
Our EMBA student, Mr Varun Kumar (ME 08), skilfully moderated the panel discussion, facilitating insightful conversations on the challenges and successes of transitioning from managerial roles to leadership positions.
While a student expressed his admiration for the speakers' discussion on developing strategic thinking and emotional intelligence, highlighting the power of advanced education in leadership development, another student appreciated the alumni’s candid insights into the challenges of managing larger teams and identifying the vital skills required for effective leadership.
The entire ECAP, Alumni, and Student Experience Teams were lauded for organising a highly informative and valuable event that provided students with a deeper understanding of transitioning from managerial roles to leadership positions.
