EMBA ECAP Alumni Session: Insights on Career Growth and Mentorship

On 25th January 2025, the Executive MBA (EMBA) ECAP team in Dubai hosted an ECAP Alumni Session for the current EMBA Middle East Online and Dubai on campus cohorts. The session provided a valuable platform for students to engage with alumni and gain career insights.

Themed "Who have been the major influencers and their impact on my professional career to date," the event welcomed over 67 students from the EMBA Dubai and Middle East cohorts.

Dr Gary Stockport (Professor of Strategy, Dean of the Executive MBA, and Chair of the Examinations Board) opened the session with a warm welcome. He provided an overview of recent developments within the EMBA program before introducing the panel of alumni speakers:

  • Prateek Bapat is a highly experienced Project Management Professional (PMP) with over 17 years in the Utilities and Oil & Gas industries. As an electrical engineer, he is recognised for his solution driven approach and strong interpersonal skills, making him an asset in complex operational environments.
  • Eren Zeybek serving as the Head of Sales for Consumer Electronics at Vestel, Zeybek brings over 11 years of expertise in global business development. He specialises in sales strategy, particularly within the GCC region, and has a proven track record of leading high-performing teams and successfully launching new products.
  • Mohanraj Subramanian brings over 20 years of experience in the Refining and Petrochemical sector, specialising in refinery economics, supply chain optimization, and techno-economic studies. His leadership at S&P Global has driven profitability and operational excellence, delivering actionable insights and sustainable strategies to clients across the oil industry.

The discussion was led by Adarsh Shridhara Metga, a current EMBA student from batch DXB B53, who kept the conversation engaging and insightful. The panelists spoke about the mentors who have influenced their careers, both in the workplace and within the EMBA faculty. They also shared how the EMBA program has helped them grow as leaders and advance in their careers.

The session gave students useful insights into career growth and the value of mentorship. The discussion highlighted how guidance and learning play a key role in building a successful career.
