Save the Egg – Team Exercise for Digital Marketing Batch-03 Students

The students of DMM Batch 03 were given a challenging team building task called ‘Save the Egg’ on 27 July, 2017. The challenge was to create a device that can keep a raw egg intact when dropped from the 1st floor, using minimum resources. The teams who participated were named NASA, SAKS, Blue Bastet, and Four Knights.

The students were divided into four 4-member teams, and were provided with basic amenities including eggs, rubber bands, straws, paper plates, cello tape, tissue roll, toothpicks, and balloons to create this device. The team who would use the minimum number of available resources and manage to keep the eggs intact past falling, would be the winning team.

The teams worked in separate enclosed areas without the help of electronic gadgets. The task helped the students work cordially in a group, indulge in rigorous brainstorming, discuss ideas, put together their creative thoughts, come to a consensus, manage resources, make plans, implement them, and deliver on time.

All four teams came up with unique and interesting ideas to help drop the eggs. After the execution of the challenge, the teams got together and discussed the strategies and the challenges they faced for implementing their strategy.

The Importance of Understanding your Brand Purpose and Customer – PG Students Visit Property Guru

When we talk about creativity in branding and marketing, we tend to think about hip, young, and mostly fast-moving consumer products. Our minds do not really move towards the real estate industry. On the contrary, even if its market can be exciting and lucrative, real estate is often seen as something more conservative and boring.

As our Master of Global Students (MGB) students found out recently, nothing can be further from the truth.

On 14 July 2017, a group of students from SP Jain’s Singapore Campus visited the Singapore office of PropertyGuru Group (PropertyGuru) at their Somerset Triple One office. Voted by consumers as “Asia’s Most Influential Brand for Online Property Search” in 2016, PropertyGuru Group helps millions of people every month find their homes.

So, what is the secret to their massive success?

BBA Jags Mumbai don Investor caps for a day at the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE)

Did you know that the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) is the world’s fastest Stock Exchange? The BSE takes around 500,000 orders a second at 6 micro-seconds’ response. Home to a whopping 5800 listed companies on its exchange, the BSE is Asia’s first stock exchange listed in 1875. On July 9, 2017, it celebrated 142 years of its existence. The BSE is also the first Exchange in the country and second in the world to receive Information Security Management System Standard BS 7799-2-2002 certification for its Online Trading System (BOLT).

To help the BBA Jags get a feel of the real Investor World, Prof. Shrinivas Shikaripurkar took the Mumbai Jags over to an educational tour of this vast complex. The moment the BBA Jags reached the venue, there was a pleasant surprise in store for them: a visit to the nerve centre of the exchange, the area where all the transactions are monitored over computer screens, which is a highly-restricted zone & requires special permission to gain entry. BBA Jags were briefed about the various procedures that are followed in this sensitive area followed by which they were taken to a briefing session.
