Pratiksha Sharma, a student from the 2018 intake of our Bachelor of Data Science (BDS) program, shared her experience of attending the event. “It was an amazing learning experience with Professor Joseph Konstan - 'The Guru of Recommender Systems'. Whether you talk about discussing the concepts or analysing the algorithms – I was surprised by the amount of knowledge he has to offer and how easily he fits all concepts in place. He made the time spent with us more fun by using ample real-world examples to demonstrate his points and sharing amusing experiences from his life,” said Pratiksha.
She added, “We were extremely lucky to have him with us and we realised this when an IIT-Bombay student was amazed to know that we were doing a short course on recommender systems with him! I am very thankful to Dr. Abhijit Dasgupta (Director - Big Data and BDS at SP Jain) for providing us with that big an opportunity and I wish to grab more of them as and when they come my way in future.”
