The students of DMM Batch 03 were given a challenging team building task called ‘Save the Egg’ on 27 July, 2017. The challenge was to create a device that can keep a raw egg intact when dropped from the 1st floor, using minimum resources. The teams who participated were named NASA, SAKS, Blue Bastet, and Four Knights.
The students were divided into four 4-member teams, and were provided with basic amenities including eggs, rubber bands, straws, paper plates, cello tape, tissue roll, toothpicks, and balloons to create this device. The team who would use the minimum number of available resources and manage to keep the eggs intact past falling, would be the winning team.
The teams worked in separate enclosed areas without the help of electronic gadgets. The task helped the students work cordially in a group, indulge in rigorous brainstorming, discuss ideas, put together their creative thoughts, come to a consensus, manage resources, make plans, implement them, and deliver on time.
All four teams came up with unique and interesting ideas to help drop the eggs. After the execution of the challenge, the teams got together and discussed the strategies and the challenges they faced for implementing their strategy.
