It was a milestone for SP Jain School of Global Management as we partnered with two ivy league universities – Harvard University and Columbia University – for a joint alumni event on 23rd October 2018.
Attended by close to 40 guests, including alumni from all the three universities, the event kickstarted with a Welcome Address by Dr John Fong, CEO & Head of Campus (Singapore), SP Jain. In line with the theme of the event, ‘Innovation in Education’, Dr Fong said, “We are delighted to host this event as all three of our institutions are forerunners in education innovation. It is also gratifying to note that our Professors are thought leaders in the innovation space and we look forward to continue such intellectual exchanges with both Harvard and Columbia.”

Following Dr Fong’s welcome note, the audience engaged with a distinguished group of panellists including Mr Michael Novielli, Vice President of the Columbia Alumni Association (Singapore); Ms Rebecca Woo Dwan, Vice President of Harvard University Association of Alumni in Singapore; Mr Brian O'Dwyer, Columbia '97 Alum; Dr CJ Meadows, Harvard '96 Alum & Director of i2i, SP Jain; Dr Tang T Heng, Columbia '15 Alum; and Dr Wendy Goh, Columbia '08 Alum.

Reflecting on the event, panellist Dr CJ Meadows (Harvard '96 Alum & Director of i2i, SP Jain) said, “Great panellists and participants! I'm inspired with all the passion in the room -- people innovating in education with new tech, new pedagogies, as well as new partnerships and business models.”
Highlighting the positive feedback for the event, panel moderator Ms Rebecca Woo Dwan (Vice President of Harvard University Association of Alumni in Singapore) shared, “We received great feedback about the event which raised lots of interesting questions and provided food for thought.”
Expressing his delight in teaming up for the occasion, Mr Michael Novielli, Vice President of the Columbia Alumni Association (Singapore), said, “It's been a real pleasure to collaborate with SP Jain School of Global Management on this event! The SP Jain team were gracious hosts and all our alumni enjoyed the venue and great conversations."
