On 6th December, SP Jain Dubai recently hosted the Business Ethics & Sustainability competition for its postgraduate students, providing them with a platform to explore and address critical sustainability challenges in today’s business landscape.
On 6th December, SP Jain Dubai recently hosted the Business Ethics & Sustainability competition for its postgraduate students, providing them with a platform to explore and address critical sustainability challenges in today’s business landscape.
The event brought together over 70 students from the Master of Global Business (MGB) and Global MBA (GMBA) programs, alongside a panel of industry leaders.
The competition aimed to integrate sustainability into the curriculum while encouraging collaboration between students and industry leaders.
Lakshmi Raman, Vice President - Administration at SP Jain, delivered the opening address, highlighting the school’s commitment to educating leaders who drive responsibility and positive change.
Students presented projects, including Eco Sustain Solutions, which focused on integrated solutions for a greener future, Bite Me, a concept for edible cutlery as an alternative to plastic, and Ecosphere, exploring creative strategies for resource conservation demonstrating that ethical business practices.
The competition used a structured grading system to evaluate student projects on relevance, creativity, impact, and feasibility.

The panel discussion further offered perspectives on how business ethics and sustainability shape the future of industries worldwide. The event brought together industry professionals who participated as jurors, assessing the projects presented in breakout sessions.
After the announcement of the winners, the top four teams presented their final projects to a panel of industry experts. The competition concluded with a special awards ceremony, where the winning teams were presented with trophies.
Reflecting on SP Jain’s broader mission, Dr Christopher Abraham, CEO Head of Campus, SP Jain Dubai, remarked, “Through this competition, we aim to equip students with important sustainability skills and create a platform for meaningful collaboration between academia and business. Ethical business practices are not just a choice, but a necessity for the future.”
The event was followed by a networking lunch, where conversations among students, judges, and faculty set the stage for collaborations and partnerships.
This initiative celebrated student creativity and gave them the opportunity to build important skills in sustainability and environmental practices.
