SP Jain Toastmasters Club in Dubai hosted the prestigious Area 8 Annual Speech Contest on February 11, 2024, at the SP Jain Dubai Campus. Among the six participating clubs, the SP Jain Toastmasters Club, under the leadership of the Area Director, showcased its dedication to promoting effective communication skills.

It was a moment of immense pride that the Area Director for the event was none other than Muhammed Ashik, an esteemed alumnus of our Executive MBA (EMBA) program, DXB 42 cohort. Muhammed embarked on his Toastmasters journey with our SP Jain Toastmasters Club back in early 2018, taking on various leadership roles within the Club. Now, he stands as a representative of regional leadership within the Toastmasters fraternity.

The event witnessed exceptional oratory skills, with top-notch speakers delivering captivating speeches. It was a dynamic day filled with learning, laughter, and networking, attended by over 70 Toastmasters from various clubs in the region alongside our EMBA students and staff members.

We then proudly acknowledged the achievements of our EMBA participants:

• Sivaramakrishnan Elumalai from ME 05 won in the 'Humorous' category, securing the opportunity to represent our club at the upcoming Division Contest on March 3.

• Kavitha K from DXB B 49 was the second runner-up in the 'Table Topic' contest.

• Additionally, Dr Lakshmi S, a dedicated staff member, delivered an impressive performance in the 'International Speech' Contest, bringing honour to the institution.

In his closing remarks, Dr Gary expressed his appreciation to SP Jain Global for hosting the event, and he acknowledged the hard work of everyone in attendance, as well as the office support team.
