The event kickstarted with an auspicious lamp-lighting ceremony as SP Jain welcomed postgraduates from
China, India, Indonesia, Kazakhstan, Philippines, Romania, South Korea and Vietnam
With diversity being a key strength, SP Jain is proud to have students from 8 different countries – China, India, Indonesia, Kazakhstan, Philippines, Romania, South Korea and Vietnam – in its new postgraduate batch. In fact, Romania is a first for the School, making it a greater celebration for the new year.
Held on 7th January 2019 at SP Jain’s Singapore campus, the orientation started with a lamp-lighting ceremony led by Mr. Nitish Jain, President; Dr. John Fong, CEO & Head of Campus (Singapore); Dr. Balakrishna Grandhi, Dean (GMBA & MGB); Dr. Marie Tourres, Deputy Director (GMBA & MGB) and Dr. Arumugam Seetharaman, Dean (Academic Affairs) - followed by the SP Jain Prayer recited by Ms. Marrilyne D’Cruz, Institutional Development Executive.

Welcome Address at the orientation ceremony of the Postgraduate cohort of January 2019
The event then saw an engaging Welcome Address by Dr. John Fong, CEO & Head of Campus (Singapore), followed by an inspirational Presidential Address by Mr. Nitish Jain, President of SP Jain, who delved into the aspirations of the new batch and shared success stories of SP Jain alumni.

After experiencing the excitement of kickstarting their tri-city adventure, the morning ended on a high note for the cohort as they took the students’ pledge. The afternoon had a packed agenda for the students as they were introduced to our faculty and programs:
• Program Overview by Dr. Balakrishna Grandhi, Dean (GMBA & MGB) & Dr. Marie Tourres, Deputy Director (GMBA & MGB)
• Introduction to P2E (Passport 2 Excellence) & PRP (Professional Readiness Program) by Dr. Bhanu Ranjan, Assistant Professor & Ms. Jyothi Srivastava, Director (Professional Readiness Program)
• IT Orientation by Mr. Mohan CV, IT Manager
• Introduction to Global Learning by Mr. Nathan Stephan, Global Learning Executive
Dr. Balakrishna Grandhi, Dean (GMBA & MGB), introduced the
students to the tri-city postgraduate programs
Dr. Bhanu Ranjan, Assistant Professor, introduced the students to our P2E (Passport 2 Excellence)
program which emphasises all aspects of leadership including personality development and decision-making
The orientation also included numerous workshops, team-building activities, a tour of the campus facilities, interactions with the peers, faculty and alumni, and so much more!
