PROCON/POLZAK 2019 conference (October 21, 2019)
Prof Abraham delivered an engaging keynote address on ‘Procurement in VUCA world’ at the sixth edition of the PROCON/POLZAC conference, the largest procurement conference in Poland. The event was attended by more than 500 international participants. In his speech, Prof Abraham described the signs of VUCA (volatility, uncertainty, complexity and ambiguity) in modern businesses, the influence of the advancing digitisation and the impact of both these factors on the procurement function in organisations.
Masterclass & Meeting with the Academy of Social Sciences (October 22, 2019)
Prof Abraham conducted a masterclass on ‘The Future of Work & Jobs in the Era of Disruption’ at the Academy of Social Sciences, one of the leading private universities in Poland. The session was attended by approximately 50 students from business and non-business backgrounds.
This was followed by a discussion with students, led by Prof Abraham and Dr Tarabasz, about our Global MBA and Master of Global Business programs and scholarship opportunities in Dubai, Mumbai, Singapore and Sydney. Some students expressed their interest in our Doctor of Business Administration program too.
Prof Abraham and Dr Tarabasz also met with the representatives of the Academy – Dr Maciej Dębski, PhD, Rector’s Plenipotentiary of the Warsaw Branch, and Dr Anna Migdał, Head of International Programs. The meeting began with outlining cooperation within projects, international exchanges, research, publications and other opportunities including Erasmus Plus and Horizon 2020 funding. This led to a broader discussion on co-organising an international conference and working on joint executive education.
Masterclass & Meeting with Management Faculty University of Lodz (October 23, 2019)
The University of Lodz is one of the biggest universities with over 60,000 students being taught among 12 different faculties. SP Jain signed an MoU with the University which is being developed in cooperation with its Management Faculty. Prof Abraham and Dr Tarabasz had a successful meeting with Prof Tomasz Czapla, Dean of Management Faculty, and Dr Maciej Turała, Deputy Dean for Student Affairs and Programs Internationalization, where they discussed students’ and faculties’ exchange, joint international conference and research. They were keen on developing executive education and dedicated training (the concept of edutainment in Dubai/Singapore/Sydney).
This was followed by Prof Abraham’s masterclass on ‘The Future of Work & Jobs in the Era of Disruption’. The session was attended by around 60 students from Business Management and Management Finance (both streams taught in English). The students also got a chance to participate in an interactive Q&A session. Conversations continued as Dr Tarabasz presented scholarship opportunities in Dubai, Mumbai, Singapore and Sydney, and had a discussion with students.
Meeting with Polish-American MBA Studies & Management Center (October 23, 2019)
Prof Abraham and Dr Tarabasz met Dr Anna Sibinska, Program Director of Polish-American MBA Studies at Polish-American Management Center on October 23, 2019. They explored the possibilities of executive education, intensive and tailored-made for a company or sector, where the morning sessions would be followed by industry visits in the afternoon and cultural trips in the evening. The topics could be related to the diverse areas of expertise of faculty members.
Prof Abraham also shared his insights in two interviews where he spoke about the neuroplasticity of the brain and the future of the labour market in a world increasingly dominated by AI. Watch videos:
